Original Santa Fe railway poster promoting California as a vacation destination. The strong primary colours and image economically convey the message. The railway was chartered in 1859 and was one of the largest railroads in the United States. The railroad officially ceased operations on December 31, 1996, when it merged with the Burlington Northern Railroad to form the Burlington Northern and Santa Fe Railway.
